Established in 1985, Platt College has served the local Southern California community for over 20 years, At its two campuses in Alhambra and Ontario, Platt offers flexible, accredited Associates and Bachelors degree programs in some of today's most "recession-resistant" fields.

Which of our programs are you interested in?

• Visual Communications

  The Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication (BAVC) develops professionals who take concepts and then create visual imagery by employing type, illustration, sound, music, photography, and animation. Virtually every aspect of modern life is impacted by the visual communicator whether by products purchased, entertainment individuals enjoy, or the way in which people communicate. Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication degree program will produce a professional portfolio that will make them candidates for entry-level employment in the myriad of industries related to visual communication.

  The BAVC program includes coursework in architectural 3D, video production, 3D character development, 3D texturing and lighting, advanced 3D animation, advanced drawing, advanced motion graphics, video compositing, and motion capture.

  The program concludes with interactive courses in portfolio preparation designed to better prepare graduates to conduct effective interviews, self-marketing, as well as produce a highly professional and competitive portfolio.

• Graphic Design

  No matter what your careers goals may be in graphic design, we have the diploma or degree for you. Our graphic design training programs provide the solid grounding you need to turn your passion into your career.

• Paralegal

  Our Paralegal Associate of Arts Degree or Bachelor of Arts Degree prepares you to excel as a paralegal assistant. No matter what paralegal training program you choose, Platt College is dedicated to helping you build a solid foundation of legal knowledge that will ensure your future success.

• Medical Assisting

  Platt College's Medical Assisting training program is designed to prepare you for a rewarding career as a Medical Assistant. In just 15 months, you too can earn an Associate of Science Degree in Medical Assisting. You'll study administrative duties and learn clinical skills like electrocardiography, injections and physical therapy. Our graduates of our Medical Assisting program are viable candidates for employment at a wide range of clinical care settings.

• Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound)

  Diagnostic medical sonography utilizes high frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images of organs, tissues, or blood flow inside the body. These images aid physicians in their diagnosis of the patient. Sonographers typically work closely with patients and radiologists in clinical health-care settings, including medical centers, medical clinics, and physicians' offices.

• Medical Administrative

  Upon successful completion of a program of instruction, the graduate will be awarded an Associate of Science; Medical Administrative Specialist degree provided all financial obligations to the school have been met and a minimum grade point average has been attained. To graduate, a student must attain a minimum, cumulative grade point average of 2.0. In addition, all students must meet with Career Services and Financial Aid, and must complete and sign all documentation prior to being approved for graduation.

• Criminal Justice

  The Criminal Justice program at the Platt School of Legal Studies prepares graduates to pursue careers in law enforcement, court administration, victim services, and corrections; or to advance towards further education in the field.

  NOTE: Graduation from the program does not guarantee entry into any career.

  Students at the Platt College School of Legal Studies can now choose to earn their Associates degree in Criminal Justice, or their Associates or Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies.

• Multimedia

  Multimedia is a unique combination of creativity and technology. In Multimedia, students learn the integration of multiple types of media: text, illustrations, photos, sound, voice, motion graphics, music, and video. The curriculum covers software fundamentals, terminology, key concepts, authoring, video production, web page design and creation, and 3D modeling. These skills can lead to an entry-level position in a web design or multimedia studio as well as enhance abilities and job knowledge in a traditional commercial graphic environment.

  Applicants for entry into the Multimedia Certificate program must hold an Associate of Arts degree in Graphic Design, or have an appropriate amount of industry experience.

Classes are conveniently scheduled during morning or evening hours to work around outside employment commitments. For working adults, Platt's curriculum offers a way to continue earning a living while studying for a new career. Financial aid is available for qualified students, and the school maintains a full-time placement staff to assist students in gaining externship experience while in school and employment after graduation.
